A rare envent! A casting call for two shows. Opelousas Little Theatre will be casting for it's next two productions at the same time. The two shows are "Showcase 2010" and "Jekyll and Hyde, the musical."
"Showcase 2010" is our annual talent/variety show. Not only is it a chance for local performance artists to show off their stuff, it's a chance for our theatre to scout for new local talent for future productions. "Showcase 2010" will be running during the last two weekends of January. All ages 10 and up are urged to audition.
Our other audition will be for "Jekyll and Hyde, the musical". It based on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic story about a brilliant doctor whose experiments with human personality create a murderous counterpart. It's a great story set to even greater music. "Jekyll and Hyde, the musical" will be running during the last three weekends in March. Ages 15 and up are urged to audition, depending on vocal maturity.
Needed: singers, actors, accompaniment (piano, violin...others), support crew (lights, sound, backstage hands, costumes, ect...) Little theatre is made up of more that just stage performance. So, if you have stage fright or you just want to be involved, we'll have a spot for you.
Come prepared with a song (with music or acapella) and a monologue... depending on what show you plan on doing. Applicants may audition for both shows.
Audition dates are Dec 7,8,9, from 6 to 8 pm and Dec 12 from 2 to 4 pm and will be held at Opelousas Little Theatre in the South City Park.
One very exciting note: Opelousas Little Theatre has obtained a performance space at the newly renovated Delta Grand in downtown Opelousas. "Jekyll and Hyde, the musical" will be the first of many productions performed in this amazingly restored and modern facility. So, if you'd like to take part in that, we'd love to have you!
