LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Motorists in southwest Louisiana traveling Interstate 10 eastbound near Kinder will have a bit of a detour for a few days.
State transportation officials say the roadway will be closed to all traffic at Exit 44, the Kinder exit onto U.S. 165 just east of Iowa, beginning Saturday at 4 a.m. until Nov. 6 at 4 a.m.
The closure was ordered for crews to perform bridge repair work.
The state Department of Transportation and Development say extra troopers will be in the area to help keep traffic moving and the department will have signage and electronic message boards to provide guidance to drivers.
