HENDERSON, La. - Department of Transportation and Development announced today that beginning Tuesday, September 2, Interstate 10 will have alternating lane closures on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, between milepost 117 and milepost 127 (Whiskey Bay), for routine bridge inspections.
Inspections are estimated to occur from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the two-week period between Sept. 2 and Sept. 10. The proposed inspection schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions and traffic queues.
Because of possible traffic delays, motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
DOTD says it encourages motorists to observe message boards in place and to drive with caution through the area. Drivers are urged to be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
