The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that, on Sept. 24 and 25, Interstate 49 in St. Landry Parish will be reduced to one lane in the northbound direction so crews can install lighting for the Grand Prairie Rest Area renovation project.
The lane closure will take place between the entrance and exit ramps to the Grand Prairie Rest Area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Renovations for the $2.4 million project include remodeling the restroom and vending facilities, adding a dividing wall at the boat launch area and expanding the parking area. Work on the project began in March 2013 and is estimated for completion in February 2014.
Louisiana DOTD regrets any inconvenience this necessary work may cause and appreciates your patience.
