LAFAYETTE, La. -Today, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that on Wednesday, February 5, Interstate 49 will be reduced to one lane in the southbound direction at the I-10/I-49 overpass to allow crews to remove and install a street light.
This closure is estimated to take place from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., weather permitting.
During the removal and installation of the street light, Interstate 49 will also be closed at the I-10/I-49 overpass, in both directions, on two occasions for approximately 45 minutes. At this time, traffic will be detoured to the I-10 on-ramps.
DOTD apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause to the traveling public. Motorists are reminded to be on the lookout for construction crews and their equipment.
