DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) - The City Council plans to vote March 26 on allocation of $200,000 in funds collected in hotel/motel taxes in Ascension Parish.
The Advocate reports the funds must be used for culture and tourism services and projects.
In line for share of the money are the River Road African American Museum, the Downtown Development District, Chamber of Commerce and its Louisiana Development Ready Communities Committee, the July 3 fireworks celebration, the city's levee topping project, Christmas decorations, street lights and signs.
