A very special duckling in Sulphur has become Facebook famous almost overnight.
Donald the duckling, born seven days ago and owned by Claude Aucoin, has four legs - and 970 fans on his Facebook page as of Tuesday afternoon.
KPLC first reported the story of Donald this week, noting that Aucoin has raised animals all his life but never seen anything like Donald.
Aucoin tells KATC he is shocked at how popular Donald the duck has become - and also by how spoiled he is.
"I've been doing physical therapy on his foot a lot, and then I hold him close to me and he falls asleep," Aucoin says. "now, every time I put him down he starts hollering. When I pick him up, he stops. He rides with me in my truck now. It's crazy."
Aucoin says the two abnormal legs will likely never be used by Donald, and it's unclear yet whether he'll be able to fly. Peking ducks like Donald don't fly much anyway, Aucoin said.
Donald has his own Facebook page started by Aucoin's daughter Kylie.
Aucoin says he doesn't use Facebook, but he's amazed by the number of likes Donald has received.
