Domestic Disturbance Call Turns Up a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber

Sunday, February 23, 2014 the Opelousas Police Department responded to a domestic abuse call just before 9:30 p.m. When officers arrived at the home located in the 800 block of North Market Street, Raymond Aguillard and a female resident were involved in a domestic dispute. During the investigation officers also found a second male in the residence, William Aguillard. Further investigation of William turned up possession of a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun and schedule I narcotics (marijuana).

William Aguillard was booked for possession schedule I drugs, illegal possession firearm in presence of a cds "Controlled Dangerous Substance" and illegal use of cds in presence of a person under 17yoa. Raymond was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and second degree battery.

Both Aguillard brothers were booked into the OPD jail facility.
