Dollar General Employee Honored With 2013 Serving Others Award

Dollar General is proud to recognize employee Travis Guillory with a 2013 Serving Others award for his commitment to the company's mission of Serving Others. Guillory was honored for his philanthropic commitment to volunteerism with Antioch Lodge #156 Free and Accepted Masons in Lafayette, La.

In a special ceremony at a recent company meeting, Guillory was presented the Serving Others award and to further recognize his work, Dollar General will present a $2,500 grant to the Antioch Lodge #156 Free and Accepted Masons.

In addition to Guillory's 50-hour weeks, he has donated more than 30 hours a month over the past five years to his community. Guillory helps prepare Thanksgiving baskets during November for less fortunate families, tutors during after-school study and homework sessions, supports mentor programs and raises funds for scholarships to help further students in their education.

"Travis is always willing to go above and beyond and volunteers for all of our outreach projects in the community," said George Morgan with Antioch Lodge. "Anytime we need volunteers, he is there with a smile and positive attitude. He has a special gift for mentoring and communicating with young people."
