It's been one big game of "who done it" in Jennings Louisiana.
Since the murders, the fingers have been pointed towards law enforcement in the area.
At least from people in town.
"People are going to feel one way or the other we don't control that we're doing in our power to make sure that we haven't left anybody out," says Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff Rickey Edwards.
Sheriff Edwards says cotton swab testing has been a common practice in his department for the past year.
On file, DNA samples from every deputy, including the sheriff himself.
But can the swabs wipe away the bad taste people have for law enforcement in jeff davis parish?
Most say, if the evidence points away from the law enforcement then they have no choice to "let them off the hook."
The testing is being conducted outside the sheriffs office by the Southwest LA Crime Lab, and the LA State Police Crime Lab.
Authorities are offering an $85,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person responsible for the deaths.
The tip line number is 824-6662.
