DNA solved New Iberia attempted burglary

A New Iberia teen has been arrested and charged with attempted simple burglary, criminal damage and criminal trespass after a DNA match was confirmed by the Acadiana Crime Lab.
Joseph Touchet is accused of attempting to break in to a home in the 4500 block of Freetown Road back in May. Though the 19-year-old did not make entry, he left fingerprints and blood on glass from a broken window.
Touchet was arrested on Monday, November 2nd and placed in the Iberia Parish jail. His bond has been set at $10,000.
