Dozens of local children were the first to try a new biometric fingerprinting and DNA identification kit.
They got printed at Sterling Hyundai of Lafayette.
The FBI and Department of Justice hosted the DNA Lifeprint child safety event.
The new identification program makes it easy for law enforcement officials nationwide to identify a child in the case of a kidnapping.

Sales Manager, Danny Benoit said, "In case something were to happen we have their fingerprints, DNA, and digital photo, and with all of those tools at hand if something were to happen to a kid. It increases, by 25%, the law enforcements chances of finding them."
