Only three days to go until election day and all eyes are on the District 3 Race here in Acadiana.
The two Republican contenders Congressman Charles Boustany and Congressman Jeff Landry have been battling from the beginning. Both are incumbents in this very tight race after their two U.S Congressional Districts were combined thanks to re-districting.
Today both Boustany and Landry Campaign Teams were very active, working on last minute preparations for election day on Tuesday. Both camps are planning a "Get Out To Vote Operation" for the next few days. The teams are making phone calls persuading residents to vote, walking around neighborhoods, and putting out campaign signs.
"As you can see the campaign office is filled with people making phone calls. I've been out the road shaking a lot of hands all morning and we've got four teams out walking neighborhoods," said Boustany.
"The campaign and Jeff are personally calling voters encouraging them to get out and vote. Also we're going door to door encouraging them to vote for Jeff and spreading the message of Conservatism," said Millard Mule Spokesman for Congressman Landry.
Both candidates said their goal for the next few days, be very visible in the community, meeting people and answering questions for voters.
