James Panos pleaded not guilty to federal charges of maintaining a drug-involved premises. The Desperado's Cabaret owner entered his pleas in federal court this morning. His business, Desperado's Cabaret, was raided on Dec. 5. On Jan. 9, Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Commissioner Troy Hebert decided to not reinstate Desperado's Cabaret's liquor license until Panos' federal case is resolved. The license has been suspended since the December raid. A trial date has not yet been set.
