Deputy shot at in St. Landry following traffic stop

A deputy in St. Landry Parish was shot at after conducting a routine traffic stop on Interstate 49. The deputy was not hit. It happened at exit 40, at LA 29 and I-49. The deputy followed the suspect after fleeing toward a truck stop casino. The driver fired two shots at the deputy. The deputy returned fire. No injuries have been reported. The investigation has been turned over to State Police and the deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave. Everyone involved has been taken into custody; we have a crew en route.
