Deputy arrested in sex case

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Baton Rouge police say a St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff's deputy has been arrested and accused of indecent sexual behavior with a 16-year-old girl.
Sgt. Donald Stone, a police spokesman, tells The Advocate that 25-yeaer-old Dustin Fite was booked into Parish Prison Wednesday on eight counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.
Police say Fite, of Kenner, has been fired from the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office.
Stone says Fite began text messaging the girl, and after about two weeks the messages became more sexual.
He says the girl's mother found text messages from Fite on her daughter's phone, which she reported to police.
It couldn't be determined if Fite had an attorney.
