Deputies say a vehicle that crashed in Baton Rouge following a police chase, is the same one involved in a high-speed chase in Lafayette earlier today. According to WBRZ, the driver of a white sedan led officers on a chase that started in West Baton Rouge Parish and ended just off I-110 in East Baton Rouge Parish. Deputies say a deputy on the interstate spotted the vehicle and started the chase, and that shots were fired during the pursuit. We're told the suspect was not shot, but he was taken away in an ambulance following the crash.
As we've reported, Lafayette deputies tell us a person driving this same vehicle stole a gun and TV from a Lafayette residence on Golden Grain Road this morning. The driver also involved deputies in a high-speed chase, which they called off after speeds of more than 100 miles per hour were reached.
