GONZALES, La. (AP) - Ascension Parish deputies say they are searching for a man who may have jumped off a Mississippi River bridge after shooting and killing his estranged wife and 12-year-old son.
Shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, East Baton Rouge sheriff's deputies received a call from a person who indicated that Ronald Green Sr. had called her and said that he had killed his family and planned to jump off of a bridge.
Ascension Chief Deputy Tony Bacala tells The Advocate officers arrived at the home in Gonzales and found Dewona Green and Ronald Green Jr. dead.
Bacala says a short time later Ronald Green Sr.'s car was found on the bridge.
Bacala says it's most likely that Green jumped, but deputies are pursuing the case as though he is still alive.
