Deputies investigating fatal shooting in Sorrento

SORRENTO, La. (AP) - Ascension Parish sheriff's deputies are investigating a fatal shooting in Sorrento.
Chief Deputy Tony Bacala says that the victim, 41-year-old Gerald Wilkins of Baton Rouge, was identified through fingerprints.
Bacala says the sheriffs' office received a call at 7:53 a.m. Saturday about a man seen lying on the side of LV Road.
Bacala says witnesses reported gunshots in the area between 3:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m.
