Deputies' Conditions Improve

The conditions of the St. Mary Parish sheriff's deputies is continuing to improve. Sheriff Mark Hebert says Deputy Jason Javier was released from a hospital last night. Hebert adds that Javier visited the sheriff's office today to visit with some of his colleagues. Deputy Matthew Strickland is out of ICU and has been moved to a regular room. Hebert reports that Strickland is communicating and talking to family members and is doing well.
