Acadia Parish sheriff's deputies say they expect to make an arrest in the case of a body found last week off Hawks Road. Investigators say they are questioning people in connection with the stabbing death of 31-year-old Tomas "Menny" Mendoza. Mendoza, a native of Honduras, was found dead last week by a boy riding a four-wheeler. The investigation into the Mendoza's death continues.
Officials with the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office say this case is not related to the death of another Hispanic man in the parish. The body of 24-year-old Andres Manuel of Mermentau was found on July 7, 2012, on White Oak Road near Richard. Manuel's body was wrapped in a tarp and left on the highway.
