HAMMOND, La. (AP) Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Mike Lucas tipped his hat to the Lions recent recruiting efforts after SLU's 25-21 win over Central Arkansas last week.

SLU played the game without starting quarterback Brian Babin, starting wide receivers Simmie Yarborough and Merrick Lanaux, and tight end Cole Wardell in a win that helped the Lions become part of a four-way tie for first place in the Southland Conference standings.

In the wake of those injuries, quarterback Tyler Beatty went 23-for-35 for 297 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions against UCA; Chris Wilson had six catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns; and Kory Theodore added seven catches for 74 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions travel to face Northwestern State at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Lucas said Babin, Lanaux, Yarborough and Wardell are all "day-to-day" heading into Saturday's game.
