DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (AP) - The Denham Springs Marshal's Office is giving defendants with outstanding warrants 35 days to avoid arrest by paying their fines and court costs.

The amnesty program applies only to warrants issued by the City Court of Denham Springs.

City Marshal Jerry Denton Jr. says defendants must appear voluntarily, pay their fines and, in most cases, a $35 bond fee for a new court date. Once a new court date has been issued, the outstanding warrant will be recalled.

Outstanding fines can be paid online at www.dsmarshal.org or by calling 800-701-8560.
