Demand for recycling services increases in Bossier

BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - Bossier Parish is getting greener.

Industry representatives say demand for recycling services is in high in the parish.

Michael Hughes, owner of Hughes Recycling, which collects recyclables for the city, parish and school system, as well as private businesses tells the times increased demand is a result of more residents being aware of how to recycle and it being more convenient for them to do so.

Cypress Nature Study Center recently teamed up with the police jury to accommodate part of the growing demand while also educating students on the recycling process. They plan to house a recycling drop off station on the west side of their facility at the Cypress Black Bayou Recreation and Conservation Park.
