A meeting is set for today in Iberia Parish for fishermen interested in selling their seafood to the public. It's part of the Delcambre direct seafood program. It allows people to buy fresh Louisiana seafood directly from local fisherman. The program, in its second year was designed in partnership with the LSU Ag center and local officials as a boost to the area's economy.
The meeting will be held at the Vermillion Parish main library in Abbelive this evening from 6 until 8. It's open to the public. Fisherman interested in joining the program are encouraged to attend.
KATC will have more tonight on the 5, 6, and 10pm newscast.
