Defense attorneys for Seth Fontenot filed motions last week to keep autopsy photos out of the courtroom and to allow Fontenot to revisit the scene of the Feb. 10 shooting that left one teen dead and two wounded.
The defense filed four motions in all. One wants to keep any gruesome images, including autopsy photos of the victim of the fatal gunshot, 15-year-old Austin Rivault, out of the courtrrom and away from the jury. A second requested access to the site of the shooting for Fontenot and his defense team.
In another motion, attorney Thomas Guilbeau also asked for the district attorney and assistant district attorneys to disclose any contact or relationships they may have with the jury pool for Fontenot's trial, which is slated to begin on Nov. 11.
A fourth motion asked that the defense be allowed to withdraw its previous request for access to surveillance video from Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center the morning of the shooting. The defense had been allowed to inspect that video last month.
