Deadly Teen Violence Over The Weekend

A 14 year old boy was stabbed Saturday night in Lafayette. It happened in the area of Cameron and Bienville. He was transported to an area hospital, but died as a result of his injury. Police are not releasing his name, but KATC has learned the young man was commonly referred to as "Toonie," a nickname.
On Sunday, another 14 year old turned himself into Police-- he's being charged as a juvenile with second degree murder.
Residents in the neighborhood tell KATC teen violence is not uncommon, but this tragic slaying takes it to a new level.
Meanwhile, Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Friday night just a few blocks away. The victim in that case was a 30 year old man. The incidents are not related.
