Dauterive Hospital's Inaugural Women's Symposium benefiting the Lydia Cancer Association has been set for Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Sliman Theatre, Main Street in New Iberia. Scheduled from 6pm to 8pm, the Women's Symposium combines a cancer survivor recognition program with health and medical speakers, wellness information, a special fashion show by Rikki's and House of Cache', door prizes and refreshments.
"Our motto is making a difference in our community," states Bill Fox, CEO of Dauterive Hospital. "This inaugural Women's Symposium, which we plan on making an annual event, will help us provide important wellness information on a range of health concerns of women in an entertaining, fun, yet informative event," he adds.
All proceeds to the $5 a ticket event will go to the Lydia Cancer Association in support of their organization and its cancer prevention and treatment message. Featured speakers during the two hour symposium will be Dr. Breigh Foster, OB/GYN, Dr. David Benson, Urologist, Dr. Seth Rosenzweig, Orthopaedic Surgeon, and the Lydia Cancer Association. Health information will be provided by Legacy Medical Group, the Lydia Cancer Association, Total Women's Health of New Iberia, and Dauterive Hospital.
Advance registration for the Women's Symposium is not required but seating is limited. Tickets can be obtained by calling Dauterive Hospital at 337.374.4314. All women of the New Iberia region are invited and are encouraged to bring friends or family members for the program.
The inaugural Women's Symposium of Dauterive Hospital is presented in collaboration with Total Women's Health of New Iberia and the Legacy Medical Group.
