Daniel Prince was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole late this evening. A jury sentenced Prince today after convicting him of 1st degree murder yesterday, in the deaths of Angella Matte and Jackie Campbell. His sentencing comes after he was convicted of killing the two women and burning their bodies in a trailer back in 2005.
Today we spoke with Mia Campbell, who was just a teenager when her mother died. "I can't go ask my mom to help me, I can't go ask my dad to help me. I do it all alone." Mia lost her father August 8, 2005, 5 months before the death of her mother. Mia says she's had to grow up all alone, and learn how to be an adult without the most important adults in her life.
"She passed away two weeks before his first birthday, and now he's 9 years old. He'll be 9 tomorrow," says Mia. She say's her boy still remembers his grandmother. "He says she comes and plays with him." She believes this is her mothers way of showing her son that she is still watching over them.
Mia was on hand for Prince's sentencing trial, and says "nobody deserves to die, regardless of what happened. I might not ever know what happened, but I know she didn't deserve to die; especially be murdered."
She says that she and the family can finally move forward with their lives, and asks that people who have followed their story to pray for her family.
