LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - The attorney for a 28-year-old Westlake woman accused of sex crimes with a 13-year-old boy has entered a not guilty plea for his client.
Heather F. Daughdrill's attorney, Fred Lebleu, waived his client's presence at her arraignment on Monday.
Officials say Daughdrill allegedly had sex with the boy after picking him up from school without his parents' permission.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers says Daughdrill met the boy while she was teaching at a summer Bible school camp. Officials say Daughdrill had multiple encounters with the boy between June and October 2011.
