State police have forwarded the case of a teenage girl shot and killed by a Breaux Bridge police officer to the State Attorney General's Office. Daraneisha Harris died on December 2. Breaux Bridge police say that evening, Harris hit a police car, a pedestrian, and another car before crashing into a ditch on Landry Street. An officer then opened fire, killing Harris. The Attorney General's Office will now decide whether any charges will be filed or if this case goes before a grand jury.
