A former St. Landry Parish district judge says he will run for district attorney later this year.
Ellis Daigle, who stepped down from the bench in February, says he is seeking the job of chief prosecutor in the 27th Judicial District.
Daigle served nine years as a judge in the district. Prior to that, Daigle served as an assistant district attorney and private practice attorney.
The incumbent district attorney, Earl Taylor, announced in January his intention to run again for his seat.
