The 23rd Annual Louisiana D.A.R.E. Officers Training Conference is being held in Pineville, LA at the Country Inn and Suites.
Sponsored by the Red River Delta Law Enforcement Planning Council, several educational and networking opportunities are being given for DARE officers from all over the state to become even more productive and successful in their agencies programs.
On Thursday, July 24th, Rapides Parish Sheriff William Earl Hilton will be the guest speaker at the noon luncheon held at the Country Inn and Suites. The conference will end on Friday July 25th with the swearing in of new DARE Board Members.
"DARE is such an important part of our drug enforcement efforts. When our DARE officers teach in these schools and keep some of those children from going down a path of drug abuse or criminal activity, it is worth it" said Sheriff Hilton. "We have seen the long term effects of the DARE program and I would hate to see what law enforcement would be without DARE. It is a vital part to help keep the next generation of adults off of drugs."
