Cyber Camp Offers Students A Chance to Learn About Animation, Games

UL Lafayette Potpourri's Cyber Camp for July video game enthusiasts from grades 9 through 12 a chance to have fun with the No. 1-ranked 3-D animation software - Autodesk Maya 3D. With this course, a participant will get a free downloadable version for at home use. Upon completion of each course, students will receive an achievement certificate and have a pizza party.

Potpourri's 3-D Animation Course helps participants establish a foundation using Auto Maya 3D software. Level 1 beginners learn functions, modeling, rigging and texturing techniques. Level 2 students acquire advanced skills, building on what was learned in the Level 1 course. It covers advanced modeling techniques and basic character rigging skills.
3-D Animation Level 1 (Grades 9-12):

Option 2: July 15 - 19, Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fee: $375
Option 3: July 29 - Aug. 2, Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fee: $375
3-D Animation Level 2 (Grades 9-12):
Option 2: July 22 - 26, Monday - Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fee: $375

Potpourri's Game Programming (Design) Course gives students an in-depth look of C# programming language at a beginner level, using Unity 3-D and Microsoft Studio software to code their games. The 3-D artist friendly software allows Level 1 beginners to create a one-level game. In the Level 2 course, students learn advanced techniques while creating multiple game levels and gain experience using the Unity 3-D software.
