Press Releas: Crowley Police have completed a quarterly review of registered sex offenders within the city of Crowley. Several years ago, Crowley Police began the Sex Offender Registration and Evaluation (SORE) program. “The purpose of this program is to make sure that our community is safe and to assure that sex offenders are following the requirements of the courts,” stated Crowley Chief of Police K.P. Gibson.
“Previously, sex offenders would register annually and unless we had a complaint were not checked by law enforcement. Now we complete the registration annually as required by law, but we also do random checks to assure that sex offenders are following all guidelines that they must follow,” stated Chief Gibson.
Within the city of Crowley, there are 22 offenders who are required to follow guidelines under the law. Of the 22, two are currently incarcerated and two other offenders have registered in other cities.
During the past 2 weeks, officers have conducted random checks on sex offenders for compliance. In all, 7 offenders were checked and all were found to be incompliance. “We will continue to check these and the remaining sex offenders throughout the year for compliance of the law. We encourage any citizen who has a concern or complaint regarding sex offenders, to contact the department,” stated Chief Gibson.

930 Mear Street, 1717 Grace Pete, 2152 West Northern, 105 North Ave K, 621 North Ave F, 1101 South Eastern Avenue, 319 West 5th Street
