A homicide in Crowley has left a 21-year-old man dead.
Police say 28-year-old Clyde Milstead III turned himself into police for shooting his girlfriend's son, 21-year-old Jerrell Andrus.
Milstead is now charged with second degree murder.
Police say the murder happened at the victim's mother's house, and it started off as a fight.
Police say at one point Milstead, left the room and came back with a gun and shot Andrus in the head.
He was transported to a Lafayette hospital where he died. Milstead had already turned himself into police.
"He didn't flee or try to run, he came and turned himself in here at the police department. At which time he was detained, until we could finish up at the scene, and he was subsequently interviewed and so forth," Chief K.P. Gibson, Crowley Police Department.
Family and friends are grieving over the loss of Andrus. It's been so painful for his mother, that she's already moved out of her house, where the incident occurred.
