A 36-year-old Crowley man has been arrested for burglarizing vehicles.
Police say Tuesday morning the Crowley Police received a tip that a a suspicious person was breaking into vehicles on Wright Avenue. The caller provided information regarding the subject and his clothing to assist officers.
Using the description from the caller, officers were able to locate a person of interest. Police say the suspect, Joseph Etienne, was in possession of a shotgun within a case.
"The officer's immediately detained this subject pending additional investigation, during which time the firearm was determined to have been stolen from a vehicle where the suspect was observed by the caller" stated Chief KP Gibson.
Etienne was arrested and booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for burglary and felon in possession of a firearm.
"Our office will work with the District Attorney's Office to see if Etienne can be tried as a Habitual Offender with enhanced penalties" stated Chief KP Gibson. "I would also like to express my gratitude to the caller and the officer's for bringing this career criminal to justice".
