At the request of the Crowley City Marshal, Crowley Police have conducted an investigation into missing funds from the office of the City Marshall.

The investigation revealed that over a 6 month period, funds from a checking account through the City Marshal's Office were taken.

Investigators began an investigation and revealed that the Marshal's assistant had allegedly taken funds from the account for personal use.

The City Marshal provided financial statements and checks from the account to support the investigation.

Once confirmed the funds were utilized in a criminal manner, an arrest warrant was issued for one aggregated charge of felony theft.

The amount of the theft was just over $10,000.00.

Emily Spell,35, of Crowley has been charged with the Alleged Felony Theft. Spell was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on Monday.

Spell has been on leave from the City Marshal's Office since the investigation began.
