Crimes investigated Tuesday, Feb. 1st
-Theft of a bicycle from a residence on Capitol Avenue near Crowley.
-Motor vehicle accident involving a calf near Mermentau. Mermentau Police Department handled incident.
-Residential burglary on Fournerat Road near Eunice. Deputies advised that a television was taken.
-Assisted Iota Police Department with the arrest of LaShona Lanae Spencer, age 27 of Martin Luther King Drive, Iota. Spencer was charged with resisting arrest, public intimidation and possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $4,000.
-At approximately 11:00 a.m. Monday morning the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office received a call from a resident that located an unsupervised 4 year old child on Conrad Road. Following a brief investigation, the child was transported to the Sheriff's Office and was released to social services. Charges are pending.
-Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office Warrants Division is asking for your help in locating Henry J. Landry of Darrell Street, Lafayette. Landry failed to appear in court for a trial earlier today.
Crimes investigated Monday, Jan. 31
-Theft of a boat from a residence on Fournerat Road near Eunice.
-Criminal damage to property at a commercial office on West Mill Street, Crowley.
-Theft of an IESI trash on Beatrice Road near Church Point.
-Theft of an IESI trash can on Sonnier Road near Church Point.
-Commercial burglary on Capitol Avenue, Crowley. Taken was approximately 400 - 500 lbs. of copper.
Crimes investigated Sunday Jan. 30
-Residential burglary that occurred on the Evangeline Highway near Basile.
According to deputies, a large sum of money was taken during the burglary. Det. Jeff Stewart is asking anyone with information on a vehicle that may have been seen in the vicinity of DI's Restaurant around 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning to contact the Sheriff's Office at 788-8700.
-Deputies recovered a motor vehicle that was stolen from a residence on N. Wilson Street in Church Point.
-Residential burglary that occurred at a residence on Alyson Drive near Crowley. Taken from the residence was a weapon and large amount of cash.
-Attempted theft of a 4 wheeler from a residence on the Eunice Iota Hwy near Iota. According to deputies the homeowner heard a noise outside the residence and upon checking the area scared off the suspect.
Crimes investigated Saturday, Jan. 29
-Burglary of an apartment near Crowley. Taken was a flat screen television and dvd player.
-Theft of a 2004 white Chevrolet 4 x 4 vehicle from an RV park near Egan. Deputies recovered the vehicle.
-Criminal damage to a motor vehicle on David Neil Road near Rayne.
-Criminal damage to property at Richard Elementary School near Church Point.
-Deputies responding to a disturbance arrested Douglas Daigle, age 41 of Milburn Lane, Eunice for Domestic Battery. Bond was set at $1,000.
-Following a brief investigation at a residence on E Ebey, Church Point, deputies charged Calvin McFarlain, age 50 of E Canal Street, Church Point with burglary and remaining after being forbidden. He was placed in the Acadia Parish Jail with bond set at $20,317.50.
-Narcotic Task Force agents assisted the Church Point Police Department with the arrest of Clarence Robinson, age 31 of North Louis Street, Church Point. He was charged with possession of Marijuana, 2nd Offense and Open Container. His bond was set at $2,500.
-Narcotic Task Force agents assisted the Church Point Police Department with the arrest of Christopher Malbrough, age 25 of Chico Alley, Church Point. He was charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, open container, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $2,347.50.
