CPSO arrests Sulphur man for burglary & theft

LAKE CHARLES, La. - A Sulphur man is behind bars for allegedly stealing aluminum pipe and scrap metal from a business.

On March 18, at 10:00 a.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies were dispatched to a business on N. Post Oak Road in Sulphur in reference to a suspicious person.

According to authorities, when deputies arrived they discovered Stuart B. Cormier, 54, of Sulphur, with his truck and a 4-wheeler stuck in the mud on the business property.

Investigators say Cormier confirmed he was on the property stealing aluminum pipe and scrap metal from the business.

Cormier was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft $500--$1,500; simple burglary; and criminal trespassing.

Bond was set at $8,500.
