Covington home invasion suspect arrested

COVINGTON, La. (AP) - Covington police have arrested a suspect in a June home invasion that left one of the residents with a gunshot wound.
Twenty-five-year-old Daren Turner, of Covington, was arrested Monday and booked into jail on charges of home invasion, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and being a principal to attempted second-degree murder.
A second suspect in the June 28 break-in remains at large.
A man who lived at the home was treated at a local hospital after one of the suspects shot him in the chest as he confronted them.
The victim's girlfriend and her 3-year-old child also were home at the time of the incident. They were not injured.
