HAHNVILLE, La. (AP) - A St. Charles Parish court employee has been arrested on charges she pocketed payments for two speeding tickets.
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office says 41-year-old Tina Bourque, of Des Allemands, was released on bond following her arrest Monday on charges of theft, malfeasance and injuring public records.
Bourque, who processes traffic court records for the parish clerk of court's office, allegedly kept two payments for speeding tickets, each worth $116.
The sheriff's office says the theft was discovered earlier this month after a person who paid Bourque for a traffic citation received a notice for failing to pay traffic fines.
Bourque allegedly cashed the driver's check at a local store.
The sheriff's office says the case remains under investigation, with additional charges possible.
