Court will reconvene this morning at 9 in the federal trial of a Saint Landry Parish School Board Member, Quincy Richard Sr. He is accused of trying to sell his vote in the search for a new school superintendent..
Monday jurors heard testimony from an FBI agent and saw video of what the agent says was a sting operation. Prosecutors say it clearly shows Quincy Richard and former school board member John Miller accepting a bribe from Interim Superintendent Joseph Cassmiere. Miller was also indicted in the same case, he pleaded guilty and is expected to testify in Richard's trial.
If convicted, Richard could face up to 15 years in prison and fines up to $750,000.
