HOUMA, La. (AP) - A 45-year-old homeless man facing six counts of attempted murder and one count of aggravated arson for his involvement in a June fire will have his first court date shortly after the new year.
The Courier reports Man Van Tran is accused starting a fire at a Houma apartment complex that injured four people.
Tran has a scheduled district court date of Jan. 13 in front of state District Judge George Larke, though court officials said they expect the date to get pushed back due to legal proceedings.
Tran has not yet entered a plea.
Fire inspector Mike Millet says the fire originated sometime before 11 p.m. June 6 in a hallway between two upstairs apartments, allegedly after Tran got into a fight with the units' residents.
