Chrissy LeBleu never thought about clipping coupons, until she found out a major expense was on the way.
She explained, "knowing that you have to start thinking about buying formula and diapers. I started looking at easier ways of savings."
LeBleu said the Sunday paper is a good place for first-time couponers to begin, but instead of just cutting out the one coupon you can go online and get an unlimited amount.
"Coupon-clipping sites- that may be recycled sites- actually sell their coupons and you are only paying for the time it takes to clip it," she said. "It gives you the opportunity to get more coupons and maximize your savings when you aren't limited to one."
Her favorite sites are www.couponclipper.com , www.couponsthingsbydede.com and also www.e-bay.com. All these websites offer coupons in bulk, but LeBleu said the biggest savings come when you double-dip.
She said when you purchase an item that's already on-sale in the store and then use a coupon you can save the most. Another thing that will make you a success is being organized. She uses a notebook to keep all her coupons organized by category and date.
"It shouldn't be a hobby that takes over you life," she said. "It should be something that is easy and effortless.
