Couple indicted in death of son

GRETNA, La. (AP) - A Marrero couple was indicted with second-degree murder in the death of their 4-month-old son.
A grand jury returned the indictment against 24-year-old Lameeka McKinney and 26-year-old Robert L. Scott III on Thursday.
Authorities say the child died from severe dehydration and overall neglect, as shown by infected sores that covered his body and severe diaper rash. The autopsy also revealed lacerations on the baby's liver that are consistent with blunt-force trauma, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office detective testified.
