Last month Scott City Police responded to a business where someone used a counterfeit $50 dollar bill. Investigators were able to obtain video of the suspect but had no other information to confirm his identity.
The following day Duson, acting Chief, Larry Isadore contacted investigators with Scott City police in reference to having 2 counterfeit $50 dollar bills passed in Duson. Duson Police were able to identify possible suspects in their cases. One of the suspects named, Timothy Viator, was found to be the person seen in the video allegedly possessing the counterfeit money.
Investigators began looking for the suspect and found that Mr. Viator had left the state. Mr. Viator was found to have been arrested in Palestine, Texas on charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest, and engaging in organized criminal activity. Along with Mr. Viator were three other suspects whom were arrested for attempting to pass counterfeit money in Texas. The three other suspects arrested are from Louisiana and identified as Troy Mouton Jr, Colby Mitchell, and Joshua Breaux.
Scott City Police has obtained an arrest warrant and charged Mr. Viator for the offense in the City of Scott. Duson Police have been able to determine that the suspect Troy Mouton Jr. was the person whom allegedly passed the counterfeit money in Duson in the company of Mr. Viator and Mr. Mitchell. Duson will be adding additional charges.
