Counterfeit Bills Passed at Fast Food Restaurant

Lafayette Police are looking for three people accused of using counterfeit money. Corporal Paul Mouton says three people passed fake bills at Sonic Drive Inn on Ambassador Caffery Parkway around 12:30 this afternoon. Investigators are looking into a similar incident that happened at Sonic in Broussard."

An employee told police the trio placed two separate orders, and both were paid with a counterfeit $20 bill.

Cpl. Mouton says, "The suspects were described as 2 white males and 1 white female in their late 20's and/or early 30's. Police are looking into a similar incident that occurred at a Sonic in Broussard."

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is encouraged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
