The St. Mary Parish Council last night outlawed saggy pants from the parish. The council voted 9-1 to ban garments or skin below the waist from being visible in public. That law will take effect once it is published in the council's journal of record.
The council also approved an ordinance that outlaws smoking in Courthouse Square and on the Blevins Property across the street. That ordinance will take effect 30 days after it is published.
