Correctional Officer Arrested for Bringing Narcotics into Jail

Following an extensive investigation Freddie J. Abraham, III, a Correctional Officer with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, was arrested this afternoon on multiple charges. Deputies say they investigated a possibility that a correctional officer was bringing contraband into the St. Martin Parish Correctional II Facility, at the Breaux Bridge Substation and found that correctional officer, Freddie J. Abraham, III, 20, Breaux Bridge. was introducing illegal narcotics into the jail. He was arrested and charged with Malfeasance in Office, Criminal Conspiracy, Attempted Introduction of Contraband in Penal Institution and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana.

He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. His bond has been set at $30,000.00.
